Where the forces involved in an accident are particularly serious and where the neck has suffered a particularly bad injury either in the form of a severe soft tissue damage or disc damage then it is not uncommon for the pain to radiate from the neck into the shoulder and down into the arm.
That can also lead to symptoms of numbness and tingling down the arm and into the hand and fingers.
