The lawyers at Redress have years of experience in handling your fatal injury claim sensitively but aggressively.
If you think you have a fatal injury claim for compensation, contact our specialist No Win No Fee lawyers for FREE legal advice.
We have seen at first hand how a fatal injury devastates a family and therefore give a lot of our time to campaigning, on a pro bono basis, for improvements in the law to ensure that fatal injuries become a thing of the past.
We work closely with the Centre for Corporate Accountability.
Our Patrick McGuire was the only lawyer appointed as a member of the Expert Group convened by the Justice Minister to consider a change in the law in relation to corporate manslaughter.
Our Frank Maguire is recognised as one of Scotland’s pre-eminent experts in relation to fatal injuries. As a Solicitor Advocate he has appeared in many leading cases to drive up and establish a just level of compensation in relation to fatal injuries including appearances in the Appeal Court.
The law in relation to fatal injuries claims are different to normal claims for compensation. There are different heads of claim and there are strict rules as to which relatives are entitled to compensation and those who are not.
Any family seeking justice for the loss of their loved one must have the full care and attention of an expert firm of solicitors who specialise in this very important area of law. That is exactly what we can guarantee at Redress.
There are also time limits for fatal injury claims. If the person who has been injured or suffers from an industrial disease has not timebarred the case before they die (see the time limits in other sections of the website) then the time limit will be 3 years from the date of their death. That is the Executor or relative who may have a claim arising out of the death will require to commence proceedings within 3 years of the date of the death.
It is also important to recognise any delay where someone’s life expectancy is very limited should be avoided because important evidence could be obtained from them relevant to a case. Our specialist lawyers will advise further and also recognise fully the delicacy of such situations.
