Cyclist Receives £85,000 Compensation from MIB

A cyclist received £85,000 after making a compensation claim. He made the claim after being injured while cycling home from work. As he had been cycling home a car pulled out sharply into his path, unfortunately the cyclist was unable to avoid the vehicle and ended up hitting the car head on.

The man sustained serious personal injuries as a result of the accident. The worst of these were fractures to his face and nose and severe dental damage. On being admitted to hospital he also required a tracheostomy to enable him to breathe properly. Since the accident he has undergone a number of operations to his face and nose and even now has visible scars. He will also need dental implants as soon as his face heals enough to hold them.

The man was forced to take sick leave from work and also suspend his military duties with the TA. The driver of the car was uninsured and so he had to submit his compensation claim to the Motor Insurers Bureau. They offered a settlement of £85,000 in compensation which he accepted.
