A passenger who was paralysed after being involved in a road traffic accident in July 2006 has been awarded the highest amount of compensation for personal injury in a UK Court.
Wasim Mohammed, who was involved in the car crash just days before his 19th birthday has sadly been left paralysed as a result of the car he was travelling in hitting a wall at 50 mph. He sustained a broken neck and damage to his spine in the accident which means that as a result he has no movement in his legs and extremely poor function in his arms.
Mr Mohammed who is now 22 years old needs specialised treatment and care on a daily basis and has 2 full time carers.
The compensation was divided into a lump sum of £4.25 million and yearly payments of £235,000 to pay for care. The compensation was agreed just hours before the case was due to be heard at Birmingham County Court.
