The Health and Safety Executive have released figures stating that at least 1,344 working days were lost by Glasgow establishments as a result of trips, slips and falls in the workplace.

Workplace accidents involving trips, slips and falls according to figures from the Health and Safety Executive resulted in five deaths, 1,405 major injuries and resulted in 2,742 people being absent from work for in excess o three days in 2008/09.

The Health and Safety Executive have re-launched a campaign the aim of which is to show employers how easily slips, trips and falls can occur and how simply measures can be put in place to avoid such accidents.
