A man has died and a second man suffered personal injuries in a car crash near Banchory in Aberdeenshire on Saturday the 29th of May.
The crash occurred on the A980 at Raemoir, at about 10.45pm on the Saturday night. One man died at the scene. The other man is said to have sustained leg injuries and is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. His condition is said to be stable.
Grampian Police have identified the car crash victim as Mark Scott, a 19-year-old from nearby Torphins.
The A980 was closed on Sunday morning to allow crash investigation work to be carried out. Grampian Police are investigating the incident, and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Inspector Jim Wood said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage and I would ask anyone who was on the A980 Banchory to Torphins road last night at around 10.45pm and who may have witnessed or come across the scene of the collision to make contact with us. This will help provide us with a clearer understanding of what happened."
