Hep C and C-Diff

Thompsons Solicitors is proud of its record of fighting to secure justice for ordinary people who have lost loved ones in the care of the NHS.

For ten years Thompsons campaigned alongside the Scottish Haemophilia Group’s Forum and others to win a public inquiry into the scandal of the thousands of Scots infected by the deadly Hepatitis C virus from NHS blood.

We won a crucial Supreme Court ruling that the Lord Advocate was wrong to refuse an Inquiry into the deaths of two of our clients who lost family members to Hep C and that the State had to hold an Inquiry.

That helped break the deadlock, with the Scottish Government now committed to holding a full public inquiry.

We represent the C-Diff Justice Group set up by the victims’ families who are campaigning for public inquiry to find out how 18 of their loved ones died from the UK’s worst outbreak of the deadly bug at the Vale of Leven Hospital.   We will use the same law to ensure that they get one.
